Choosing the right one

Size thrust with margin over the real load; speed falls as load rises.
Choose the stroke you need: a longer stroke of the same body is usually slower and less stiff.
Check how it is commanded (PWM servo signal, TTL or RS485 serial, Modbus) against your controller, and whether the driver is built in.
Force-feedback versions read their own thrust, which helps for gentle grasping and contact detection.
Self-locking screws hold position with power off, which saves current in fingers that grip for long periods.
