A driver board must match the motor's size and current; check the maker's pairing for the motor you have.
FOC drivers with an encoder input give smooth low-speed torque; check that the driver speaks the bus your controller uses (CAN, RS485).
One USB-to-CAN adapter is enough to configure and test a joint from a PC; a multi-channel hub runs several CAN buses at once.
Terminate each end of a CAN bus with 120 Ω; the adapters here have a switch for it.
Regenerated energy from braking joints raises the bus voltage; a bleeder module protects the supply on fast-moving robots.

It runs on 6-24 V, it supports a baud rate of 50 bps to 1 Mbps and it measures 47.3 × 31 × 13.2 mm.
